Awareness of drugs

As a teenager, most young people believe their pretty much Immortal; you know your body will never fail you; you’re going to live forever at least that’s my personal opinion of children and teenagers.  Jack was a fifteen year old boy; He had every reason to be happy for various reasons he wasn’t.  He just came back from living a sunny life in Spain, which was great. He always had a lot of friends; people always seem to like him, even though he was extremely anti-sociable at times. He just started a new school in the United Kingdom, it seemed pointless as there was only nine weeks before he would have to start his GCSE in a college, as he had never done them before. He never enjoyed this nine weeks of hell at this secondary school, He was extremely anti-sociable and had no interest in making friends.
He always drank alcohol, when you come from Spain, everyone drinks. But he never drank a lot or everyday or even every month. He never got himself so wrecked, he was pretty normal. While at this mayhem of a secondary school, he started drinking a lot at home, without anyone knowing; you know typical British teenage binge drinker, Jack Daniels, Vodka, Beer and Mould wine, anything he could get my hands on.  Thankfully he just ended this mayhem of a school just about to join a College. I’m not sure what was going on in his mind at the time, but he shaved all his hair off, and I looked like a complete Chav. Ex. Umbro jacket etc. He was being a lot more sociable at College; Jack did have attentions to make friends since he was not going to be seeing his Spanish friends for a long while. Jack was still drinking but nowhere as bad as Secondary school. His overall summary grade report was fine all the way to Christmas he was taking B’s on all subjects which he was very pleased about, although this changed after New Year.
He already learnt he liked to drink, and his friends were binge drinkers too, they always smoked cigarettes he always thought that’s stupid, and he always thought ‘’ I’m never going to smoke’’. On New Year was a new whole level for Jack, It was a new beginning of entering the consuming of drugs first time He never got  stoned, as well he completely drunk and ended up with him nearly having un-protected sex, Luckily he was too stoned and drunk to end up with a baby on its way. Jack never understood why he took drugs that night or mind sent of thinking, he thought drugs were for douche bags.
Jack just returned to college, his grades were going down because he was drinking too much, Jack always had a pint at the local pub at lunchtime as well the occasional Beer in the morning.  As well at least three drinking sessions at the local park per week.
Jack just started smoking, this was the whole new ‘’Cool’’ thing to do, and as a sheep he followed, Why wouldn’t he all his friends were doing it? Jack shortly took up Smoking Cannabis & Hash, It started with that odd joint a week, northing serious. Jack never smoked at College; he would come into College drunk but never be on drugs, I think it was more about how he came across to people. At the time his hair was finally long again and I stopped dressing like a Chav, It would have been nice if he cut his hair, it wouldn’t have looked like a wreck. By this time he didn’t have to come in a lot, only to do test’s or  was it the other way round? He didn’t come In, Jack didn’t care.  Jacks drug addiction for taking lots of Alcohol and Cannabis became a regular basis thing, Morning, Afternoon & Night time. He always knew where to get drugs, He would never get drugs from college, and those dealers will rip you off.  There’s a big difference between addiction and abuse, as he eventually learnt. Addiction is about a chemical reaction in the brain where you become physically and mentally hooked. Some people can abuse drugs without getting addicted. They can drink gallons, take a load of drugs and then not do it for a while. That’s wasn’t him at all; everyone has a level somewhere where they cross that line from abuse to addiction. Imagine a picture of a human body. For some people – like Jack- the crossover line is somewhere down by his ankle. For others, the line might be up by their forehead.               Once you cross the line, your mind tells you constantly that you need those drugs to function, so you can deal with the day. You can often think you cannot function without it. You become slightly insane taking drugs. There’s the physical side too – your body reacts and if you stop taking the drugs, it makes you ill. Jack started to develop chest stings and generally feeling Ill, He stopped taking Cannabis he couldn’t afford it. Jack ignored the chest stings as it wasn’t that bad. He continued to smoke cigarettes though, even though when smoking was causing him chest pains.
A few weeks later, Jack was at his aunts. He was having a lot of chest pains that day, but later at night He was offered a joint, well when I say Joint, I mean half a joint which he did not roll. Jack coughed his guts out while smoking it. It was very nasty cough, and he presumed it was from not smoking for a while. He hadn’t had a joint for a while. Jack was not sure if it was Cannabis, but didn’t seem to care.
Jack didn’t fill stoned, but about fifteen minutes later his heart started pounding so fast, he felt that awful sensation of indigestion, when you’ve been in a hurry. After that had seemed to subside, the next sensation was like little squeezing motions that seemed to be   racing up his spine, it was
gaining speed just pumping and pounding, he couldn’t breathe and the only thing on his mind was ‘’ I’m going to die’’ Jack then felt to fill sleepy, in severe pain. His aunt found him and called the paramedics imminently. As he waited in severe pain, with an Aunt going on at him to make sure he’s alive.
Paramedics came quiet quickly within five minutes, Jack was imminently taken to the Ambulance and hooked up by many machines, it turned out his heart was going two hundred beats per minute. There was a beeping noise of machines in the background. At arrival to the Hospital, slight sarcasms came to Jack’s mouth when shown a wheel chair. He replied ‘’Do I have too?’’ The paramedic replied ‘’ Yes ‘’ Jack then found himself dazed looking at a sign saying ‘’ Serious injuries’’ of course naturally he was worried.       One of the paramedics gathered of his expression and replied ‘’ Better than the resuscitation room’’                               Jack replied ‘’ what’s the resuscitation room?’’ The paramedic replied ‘’ It where we bring people back to life’’ The surrounding around him went silent.  One of the paramedics returned from the serious injuries ward, She then said to her colleague ‘’ He going to resuscitation ward’’ The other Paramedic slightly sighed and did not say a word.  A nurse came quickly and hooked Jack up to several standard hospital machinery, at the time the heart was still pounding around hundred and nightly eight beats per minute.
A doctor came to Jack’s bed and took several blood examples, of course because it was the NHS they spilt a huge portion of blood all over the hospital bed, which then a second blood test had to be done. Nurses were coming all around Jack, putting CPR machines near him. Jack tried to ask why their loads of machines being put near him. The nurse said  ‘’ Just in case’’ of course Jack did. It seemed the Nurses would not answer any questions; they always had a smart response such as ‘’ don’t worry about it ‘’.    Jack was then given several drips which then slowly but painfully slowed his heart down.                            He remained there for the following day which they released him at a heart rate of hundred and thirty beats per minute.  The chest pain by the next afternoon was gone away, however Jack could not walk.      It seemed his whole body was either in shock or due to the pain.
Jack learnt the hard way, that his body was not at all immortal, and that his body can give up at any giving minute. If you abuse your body it will cause a serious amount of problems or worse death
